Effective October 7, 2026 · Terms of Service
Short version: Red Box keeps your Discord ID and your game progress so the game works. It doesn't read your chats, doesn't sell anything, and will delete your data if you ask.
1. Who handles your data
Red Box is made and operated by 1300 Studios, which is responsible for the data described here. Contact us at [email protected].
2. What we collect
- Discord IDs: your Discord user ID, and the IDs of the servers and channels where Red Box is used.
- Game data: your progress (cash, items, stats, cooldowns, season results), trades, garage-sale listings and other in-game activity.
- Server settings: choices a server's admins make for Red Box, like which channels it posts in and which features are on.
- What you send us: feedback, bug reports and beta applications, including the server name and the answers you give.
- Purchases: for paid plans, the server the plan is for, the plan, its status and the Discord username you give at checkout. Card details are handled by our payment processor; we never see them.
- Commands: Red Box reads messages that start with its command prefixes (like
r/) and slash commands sent to it. It ignores all other messages. Commands may appear in short-lived technical logs we use to run and fix the bot.
To show names and profile pictures in the game, Red Box gets them from Discord when it needs them. It doesn't keep a copy, except where a feature saves a display name (for example, a server name on a beta application).
3. Why we use it
Only to run Red Box: to keep your progress, run game features, stop cheating and abuse, answer support requests, and improve the game. We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
4. Who we share it with
Other players in a server see game information about you that the game shows, such as leaderboards, profiles and stashes (a padlock hides your stash and cash). Red Box runs on Discord, so Discord's own Privacy Policy applies to your use of Discord. Payments are processed by our payment processor under its own privacy policy. We may disclose data if the law requires it. Otherwise, we don't share it.
5. How long we keep it
We keep game data while you play. Season wipes reset progress but keep lifetime stats. If Red Box is removed from a server, that server's data may be deleted after a while. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (section 7).
6. Security
We store data on systems we control and limit who can access it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your Red Box data by emailing [email protected] or posting in the support channel of the Red Box community server. Deleting your data removes your progress. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under privacy laws (such as Canada's PIPEDA or the EU GDPR), and you can contact us to use them.
8. Children
Red Box isn't meant for anyone below Discord's minimum age, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child's data is in Red Box, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We'll change the date at the top and announce bigger changes in the Red Box community server.
